Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned of a possible accident at the beleaguered Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine after a power outage led to an emergency shutdown of the plant’s two reactors.
“I want to emphasize that the situation is still very dangerous… any repetition… will bring the power plant back to the brink of disaster,” Zelensky said in a video message on Friday evening.
Zelenskiy also reiterated his call for a team of international experts to inspect the station, as well as withdraw the Russian occupying forces from the station.
