Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday launched a global fundraising platform to help Kyiv win the war against Russia and rebuild the country’s infrastructure.
“With one click, you can donate money to protect our defenders, save civilians and rebuild Ukraine by announcing the United24 platform,” Zelenskiy said in an English-language video message posted to his Twitter account. “Every donation is important for victory,” Zelensky said.
“All the money will be transferred to the National Bank of Ukraine and distributed to the relevant ministries,” Zelenskiy said, noting that his government would update information “every 24 hours” on how the money was used.
Zelensky called on ordinary citizens around the world to help Kyiv defeat Moscow.
“Only together can we stop the war and restore what Russia has destroyed,” he said.
He stressed that Ukraine “will always remember” these contributions.
Kyiv has received military aid from the West, but its army remains much smaller than the Russian army.
Zelenskiy, 44, has been calling on the world’s parliaments almost daily for help to his country since the start of the Russian offensive.
