Turkish hit series “Kuruluş Osman” (“The Ottoman”) managed to conquer hearts of the people of Bangladesh, becoming one of their favorite programs as the show East available stream with Bengali dubbing and with subtitles in English and Bengali, according to the Dhaka-based satellite and cable channel National Television (NTV).
Addressing Anadolu Agency (AA), senior NTV producer Saifullah Saif said that people have been drawn to the series aired since February 2, due to son interesting theme and its outstanding visuals.
“This is one of the most popular programs of our TV channel and it’s a record success this just in one month a mega-series gained huge popularity,” Saif said.
He noted that people in Bangladesh is drawn in Turkish show because it represents history rather than mythologies.
“If you look at ‘Kuruluş Osman’, you will find a very strong theme, full of excitement, excellent dialogues, great visual sequences, filming on very attractive hilly and forest locations of history city of Istanbul,” he said.
Turkey’s envoy to Bangladesh, Mustafa Osman Turan, told AA that the popularity of Turkish productions in Bangladesh has created a new bond between brotherhood countries.
“They encourage Bangladeshi tourists to visit Turkey and explore Turkey history and cultural. It’s the best channel to facilitate people-for-people contacts,” he noted.
Rafiqul Islam, professor of from the Arabic department of the University of Dhaka, said that “Kuruluş Osman” was son favorite television program.
“I once loved the mega-Turkish ‘Diriliş Ertuğrul’ (‘Resurrection Ertuğrul’) series the most and now ‘Kuruluş Osman’ is on the top of my selection. I have never been so impressed with a television programs in my life as i feel it for these two mega-series”, Islam said.
