The White House said US President Joe Biden has no plans to visit Ukraine at this time, despite an invitation from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“There are no such plans,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in Washington on Monday.
The US government is focused on sending military equipment to Ukraine.
If a member of the US government travels to Ukraine, it will not be announced until he arrives for security reasons.
Zelensky invited Biden to visit Ukraine to see firsthand the situation there after about two months of war.
Washington is said to be considering sending Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin or Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to visit Ukraine, and if true, that would make it less likely that Biden himself would travel to the country in the near future.
