The Idol is a drama series co-created by Sam Levinson, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, and Reza Fahim. You might recognize Levinson as the creator of the Emmy-nominated series Euphoria and Abel Tesfaye as the Grammy Award-winning artist, The Weeknd.
The Plot of The Idol
The story follows an aspiring pop star named Jocelyn, who, after undergoing a nervous breakdown that derails her last tour, works to reinvent herself as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America and begins a romance with a self-help guru who is also a cult leader.
Lily-Rose Depp stars in the leading role as Jocelyn, while Abel Tesfaye plays Tedros, the self-help guru/cult leader/Jocelyn’s love interest. The rest of the cast of The Idol comprises Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Jennie Ruby Jane, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, and many others.
