Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszyk announced that the US State Department has approved the sale of 250 “Abrams” tanks to Poland.
Blashiak wrote on his Twitter page today: “Very important news for Poland’s security. (US) State Department, Poland’s most son Confirmed the sale of 250 Abrams tanks in the M1A2 SEPv3 versions.”
He described Poland’s purchase of American tanks as one of the most important military deals in his country’s history. “It is a very significant strengthening of our defense capabilities and is one of the most important arms deals in Polish history,” he said.
Polish officials had previously reported that the tanks they were planning to purchase from the United States would be deployed on the country’s eastern border.
