Nikolay, the son of Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, has declared his refusal to heed the call to mobilize to fight in Ukraine.
It happened during a telephone conversation that went viral on the Internet. According to AFP.
In the video, which is circulating on social networks, the blogger directly contacts the son of a Russian-speaking man, claiming that he is a conscript in the army and is responsible for communicating with the reservists, some of whom Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the mobilization.
Blogger Dmitry Nezovtsev is the host of a YouTube channel created by supporters of imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. In the video, he says to the son of a Russian-speaking woman: “Your summons was sent today.”
The blogger adds: “There is a number at the top that you must call and you must come tomorrow at 10 am to the call center.”
Nikolai Peskov, 32, replied: “Of course, I won’t come tomorrow at ten in the morning,” hinting that he would not join the army.
“If you know that I am Mr. Peskov, you must understand that it is not appropriate for me to be there,” he says, adding, “I will resolve the issue on a different level.”
He continues: “I have no problem protecting the country. But first I have to understand what is possible for me.”
On Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin announced a “partial mobilization” of 300,000 reservists with “military experience.”
