As protests resumed at a number of universities in the capital Tehran today, Saturday, security forces began besieging students.
Videos released by Iranian activists show Basij members attacking students at the University of Research Sciences in Tehran.
At the same time, security forces laid siege to Sohank University in the capital, prompting students to call on citizens and families to get involved and break the siege, according to the Iran International network.
Khamenei is a killer
At the College of Technology of Tehran University, protesters chanted in defiance of repression: “The owner of the paralyzed hand (referring to Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei) fought the victims of the terrorist attack in Shiraz.”
A similar situation developed in the northeastern city of Mashhad, where Basij forces and plainclothes security forces attacked students at Firdousi University, where student protests against the regime are taking place.
It is noteworthy that since September 16, the day of the death of a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, just 3 days after her arrest by the vice police, unprecedented protests have been taking place in Iran, involving many angry young people and women from all walks of life.
University and school students have also contributed to this unprecedented movement over the years.
Which represented one of the boldest challenges to the authorities and ruling religious leaders since the 1979 revolution.
However, the security forces reacted harshly, leading to the killing of hundreds of protesters, as a number of human rights organizations confirmed the killing of at least 250 demonstrators, and thousands were arrested across Iran.
