Russian President Vladimir Putin met today, Thursday, with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Astana on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
During the meeting, President Putin said: “Relations between Qatar and Russia are developing successfully. The volume of our trade is still small, but tends to increase. Thanks to your participation, investment activity is also carried out directly, and I must say that it is very diverse, and investments are made in a variety of areas.”
“I want to say that I will be very glad to see you again. As agreed, we will be glad to see you in Russia,” Putin added.
It is noteworthy that the organization “SICA” includes 27 countries as permanent members, 8 other countries as observers and 5 international organizations.
On the other hand, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, received a written message from US President Joe Biden regarding bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to support and strengthen them, and issues of common concern.
The message was received by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, during his meeting with White House Homeland Security Adviser in America Elizabeth Sherwood Randall today.
During the meeting, the cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, especially cooperation in organizing the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, were considered, and a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed.
