The US Treasury imposed sanctions on Belarus for its support of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
As part of the serious and broad US response to Russia’s military operation against Ukraine, the State Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has sanctioned 24 Belarusian individuals and entities for supporting and facilitating Russian intervention in Ukraine.
He added that the focus is on the defense sector and financial institutions in Belarus, two areas with close relations with Russia.
Ministry of Belarus son Noting that over the last few years he has become increasingly dependent on Russia for economic, political and military support, he pointed out that the Treasury’s actions regarding Russia will have significant effects on Belarus.
He noted that the Belarusian economy is highly dependent on the main Russian financial institutions and their subsidiaries.
In his speech to the Russian people, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation to protect Donbass in southeast Ukraine.
Putin stressed that Russia will work to disarm Ukraine, prevent nationalism in Ukraine and bring to justice the perpetrators of bloody crimes against civilians, including citizens of the Russian Federation.
