His Excellency Minister of Information Mr. Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari attended the meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Ministers of Information of the Arab States, the 16th session of which was held today in the State of Kuwait under the chairmanship of the Republic of Iraq, with the participation of the Ministers of Information and heads of media delegations of the states members of the office. In his speech at the meeting, His Excellency conveyed greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – God bless them – their excellencies the ministers of information and heads of media delegations who participated in the meeting; His Excellency also expressed gratitude and appreciation to the fraternal State of Kuwait for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
His Excellency the Minister of Information stated that the meeting is a continuation of the efforts to develop the joint work of the Arab media, and discusses the most important media issues facing the Arab countries in light of the unprecedented development witnessed by the media sector in various sectors. .
His Excellency Mr. Salman Al Dosari stressed the importance of using the media to promote a culture of dialogue, cooperation, tolerance, respect for other values and cultures, considering their diversity as a way to achieve the prosperity of peoples, emphasizing respect for value and the right of society to protect and preservation of their own values and culture.
His Excellency pointed out the importance of adopting a unified Arab position to counter the content broadcast by some international media platforms that is contrary to the principles of Islam and does not respect the values and ethical norms of Arab societies, as well as to create clear joint executive mechanisms to crystallize the position of Arab countries that reject content, violating the principles of our society and culture, and monitor the degree of their commitment. These platforms are subject to publishing controls in our countries, and uniform action is taken if they violate any of these controls. .
His Excellency Mr. Salman Al Dosari reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the efforts to develop the joint work of the Arab media in order to realize the hopes and aspirations of our Arab leaders and peoples. He expressed his gratitude to the members of the Arab Media Standing Committee and the Media and Communication Sector of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States for their efforts in preparing for this meeting through their preparation of recommendations, draft resolutions and agenda.
