The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that 8.5 million children are in need of humanitarian assistance out of a total of 15.6 million children in Sudan. In a report released today, UNICEF confirmed that the continued deterioration of basic social services in Sudan has led to humanitarian crises, leaving more than 8.5 million children in need of humanitarian assistance.
The report added that continued sectarian violence, regional conflicts, climate-related dangers and the spread of major epidemics are taking a toll on the lives and well-being of children in Sudan, noting that the cost of needed humanitarian assistance is estimated at $584.6 million. provide basic life-saving services such as education, health care, food and water, and help reduce maternal and child deaths from malnutrition.
