Official sources in Russia have confirmed that against the background of the military escalation in the Donbass region, an artillery shell fired from Ukraine exploded today Saturday in Russia’s Rostov region, near the border between the two countries.
TASS news agency reported that a source from law enforcement confirmed that the bullet had exploded at four in the morning Moscow time, 300 meters from a house in the village of Mityakinskaya, in the Tarasovsky district.
The source stated that the place where the explosion took place was about one kilometer from the border with Ukraine.
The accident did not cause any material damage or loss of life.

This comes against the backdrop of escalating military tensions in the Donbass region in southeastern Ukraine, where the Kiev government and self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics accuse each other of violating the Minsk agreements and ceasefire regime.
The Donbass republics declared general mobilization and began to evacuate their civilian citizens to Russia.
