Today, two earthquakes hit the city of Markang, Aba Prefecture, in the Sichuan province of southwest China.
According to the China National Seismic Network Center, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit Markang, Aba at 00:03 am (Beijing Time) today, followed by another 6.0 magnitude earthquake at 1:28 am.
The Sichuan Provincial Emergency Department said there were no reports of casualties or property damage from the two earthquakes, noting that disaster relief operations are being conducted in an orderly manner.
The province activated the third level emergency response service due to the consequences of the earthquake, and more than 750 people from the fire department were sent to the epicenter, and the fourth level emergency response service was activated in China.
