Loyalty may be a trait most associated with dogs among animals, but Yaren proved she wasn’t below them when it came to punching up friendships with humans. The stork, who enjoys somewhat famous status in Turkey, with a documentary telling him story released two years ago, returned to the northwest village this year again or her met local fisherman Adem Yılmaz 11 years ago.
Yilmaz first met the stork when it landed on son boat as it was out fishing on Lake Uluabat in Eskikaraağaç, a village which is part of the popular routes where migratory storks visit, in Province of Stock Exchange. A simple act of kindness for son role, which involved feeding the apparently hungry bird fish, turned into a friendship that lasted for more more than a decade. Their days together are numbered car the migratory bird must leave for a warmer climate after spending the spring and summer there, but the 69-year- the old man cherishes the stay anyway.
In a recent release, Yaren (meaning “close friend” in Turkish – a name assigned by Yılmaz) had theair keen to go fishing with Yilmaz again as she watched him throw son nets in the lake. “I was very excited and happy to see her again”, Yılmaz told reporters on Monday. “We will cross the lake with Yaren for six month. It was a meeting I watched forward for. I was not sure if she would come this year thank god she came back”, he said. “I hope that our friendship last. I love her so much. She is a friend of mine,” he said.
Ali Özkan, mayor of The Karacabey district where the village is located, was among the visitors of the stork and Yılmaz. The municipality appreciates publicity for the small village and wants to promote it more. Özkan said he installed a video camera next in the stork’s nest in the village and the will soon broadcast a livestream from the spot. Yaren is a revered figure for the village where a statue of she and the fisherman were erected on the place center of the village. Elsewhere, murals and large photos of Yaren adorns the walls of Houses in Eskikaraağaç.
Alper Tüydeş, a local photographer who has been also behind the production of the documentary on Yaren and Yılmaz’s friendship, made the duo celebrated 11 years ago when they captured their iconic photos on Both sides of At Yilmaz small boat. Since then, he has been tracking this extraordinary friendship. “She first arrival in son nest on Sunday.
