“The height of the tower is 318 meters and it represents March 18, represented by today’s date (Friday), and the distance between the two towers is 2023 meters, as 2023 is the centennial of the World War. It is the symbol of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey and our great goals. “
The Turkish president stressed that “the bridge project will support economic production by approximately 5.3 billion euros, provide 118 thousand jobs and add approximately 2.4 billion euros to national income.”
He pointed out that Turkish companies, in cooperation with their South Korean counterparts, “worked day and night to open the bridge on the specified date” with 5 thousand employees and 740 machines.
Erdogan expressed his belief that he will increase the trade volume with South Korea to $20 billion as soon as possible.
South Korean Prime Minister Kim Po Kim said that the opening of the bridge would be a good opportunity to showcase his country’s technology and contribute to the strengthening of economic and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the news of Yonhap Agency, Kim, who went to Turkey for the first time as a South Korean prime minister in 9 years, attended the opening ceremony of the “Çanakkale 1915” bridge today.
