Former US President Donald Trump has announced that he will release all classified files related to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy if he is re-elected in 2024. The CIA was involved in the murder of his uncle.
“You know, I shot a lot and I will declassify everything else,” Trump told The Messenger on Monday.
In 2018, the Trump administration wrote in a memo that records related to the JFK assassination are being withheld because “certain information must continue to be deleted for reasons of national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs.”
“I agree with the archivist’s recommendation,” the memo says, “continued exemptions are necessary to protect against identifiable damage to national security, law enforcement, or foreign affairs that outweighs the public interest in speedy disclosure.”
The Trump administration has ordered agencies to review each of these amendments over the next three years. He also required agencies to disclose information that no longer required further withholding.
Before leaving Fox News, journalist Tucker Carlson said he spoke with someone who had direct knowledge of the JFK assassination. Asked by Carlson if the CIA was involved in the JFK assassination, the source said: “The answer is yes, I think they were involved. It’s a completely different country than we thought.”
