Yesterday, the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief delivered the third batch of humanitarian aid to the National Disaster Management Authority in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which included 10,000 food baskets weighing 950 tons loaded onto 100 trucks for distribution to disaster victims. floods caused by heavy seasonal rains in 17 districts of Khyber, Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, which affected 70,000 people.
The broadcast was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority, Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz, and a number of senior Pakistani government officials at the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority in the capital Islamabad.
Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the Republic of Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki said: “This project is a continuation of the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the brothers in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and in accordance with the instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highnesses the Crown Prince – God save them – through the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center.
Ambassador Al-Maliki added that the third shipment was delivered today as two shipments of this aid were previously delivered to support our brothers affected by the floods in different regions of Pakistan, noting that the King Salman Relief Center is constantly working – in coordination with the Pakistani government is to deliver this aid to the beneficiaries, and the efforts of the center are highly appreciated by the Pakistani leadership and people.
For his part, the chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority, Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz, expressed gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. To King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for the generous support they are giving to help the Pakistani people through the King Salman Relief Center, noting that this help has come at the right time as Pakistan is suffering from the floods that are the worst in decades due to torrential monsoon rains since last June, which have caused massive loss of life and property, and thousands of families are in dire need of emergency assistance.
Akhtar Nawaz praised the efforts of the King Salman Relief Center and its cooperation with the Pakistani authorities in providing emergency relief since the floods began, as well as the implementation of many relief and development projects in disaster-affected areas in Pakistan. pointing out the strength of brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries and the support of the Kingdom of Pakistan in all adversities and difficult times.
This is an expansion of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian assistance to victims of crises and natural disasters in various countries of the world.
