The Yemeni official stressed that the current truce, in particular the lifting of the siege of Taiz, shows the seriousness of the Houthis’ intentions to accept a political settlement, warning that failure to make progress on this humanitarian issue will hamper efforts being made to kick-start the political process.
Bin Mubarak also underlined, according to the official Yemeni news agency (Saba), the importance of keeping the prisoner issue in the spotlight and making it a priority for all those involved in Yemeni affairs.
For his part, the Swedish envoy pointed to his country’s continued support for Yemen and made every effort to contribute to the resolution of the crisis and peace, stressing that his country supports the unity, security and stability of Yemen.
