The first trailer for The Witcher star’s new movie says it will be on Netflix
The first video for the thriller T.I.M., which stars Eamon Farren from “The Witcher” and Georgina Campbell from “Black Mirror,” has been released before the movie comes out on Netflix on August 16.
T.I.M. is an acronym that stands for “Technologically. “Manservant” might not be for you if you’re already afraid of the dangers of A.I.
Campbell plays Abi, a scientist and robots engineer whose husband Paul (Mark Rowley) cheats on her. They move to the countryside in Cambridgeshire. Abi is thrilled when her company gives her the prototype T.I.M. (Farren) to help her adjust to her new life.
But, as the trailer shows, things quickly turn bad when T.I.M. shows an unsettling interest in the couple’s relationship and starts to pay extra attention to Abi.
As T.I.M.’s obsession with Abi grows, their once-friendly manservant plans to take Paul’s place, putting the couple’s lives in danger.
Amara Karan (The Night of), Nathaniel Parker (The Last Duel), and Tom Bell are also in the movie.
The official description of the movie on Netflix says, “T.I.M. explores our fear of artificial intelligence. Tech companies are rushing to be the first to market, even though they admit they don’t know what they’re letting loose on the world. And if it’s going to kill us.”
Spencer Brown, who used to be a comedian but is now a writer and director, wrote the story for T.I.M. with his wife, the author Sarah Govett.
Brown said about the movie last October, “It was a privilege to have such a great cast for my first movie. Georgina lights up the screen with her amazing presence and subtlety, Mark wins our hearts with his humor, depth, and humanity, and Eamon completes the central trio with a brilliant AI performance that shows off his truly world-class talent.”
“Stigma Films has been amazing in helping me get this movie made, and I’m thrilled to be working with Altitude to get it out into the world. I hope it’s something people will still watch when they have their own home robots!”
On August 16, T.I.M. comes to Netflix. Seasons 1–6 of Black Mirror are now available to watch on Netflix.
