The European Football Association (UEFA) has begun implementing semi-automatic offside technology, starting with the group stage matches of the Champions League of the new 2022-2023 season, which kicked off on Tuesday.
The experiment will be continued in today’s matches for the same role in the tournament. There will be cameras on the playing field, and accurate sensors inside the ball that determine the semi-automatic offside point.
The parties of players that are considered an invasion have also been programmed, and if this happens, the mouse will be automatically notified in order to calculate the situation with very high accuracy.
Today, on Wednesday, matches of the first round of the group stage of the Champions League, consisting of 8 matches, will end, first of all, Napoli with Liverpool and Inter with Bayern.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid won the Champions League last season 2021-2022 for the 14th time in its history.
