The Canadian league has witnessed one of the strangest scenes in football history after South Sudanese player William Akio conceded a goal during a match between his Valor team and his invited Wanderers.
In a Canadian League Matchday 13 game, Valor launched an organized attack to reach striker Alessandro Riggi in the penalty area to hit him, but hit the Wanderers goalkeeper, causing the ball to move slowly to the goal line.
And when the ball was already on its way to the goal line, William Akio appeared, who strangely interfered: instead of finishing the ball into the net or letting it enter alone, he shot and scattered it away from the goal, to the amazement of his colleagues and fans watching the match from the stands.
Luckily for Akio, his Valor team eventually won that match with an unanswered goal.
