The Ritz-Carlton, one of Russia’s most luxurious hotels, changed its name after Marriott International announced it was suspending operations in Russia due to Moscow’s attack on Ukraine.
The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow, located near Red Square and some of the rooms overlooking the Kremlin, was renamed Carlton Moscow.

The hotel could not be contacted on Monday for comment.
The five-star hotel was managed by The Ritz-Carlton, a subsidiary of Marriott International.
In March, Marriott International said it was “deeply saddened by the appalling violence affecting the people of Ukraine” and announced it was suspending its operations in Russia.
Hundreds of Western companies, such as McDonald’s and Coca-Cola, have suspended or ceased operations in Russia since the start of the Russian offensive into Ukraine in late February.
