The professional soccer player and his girlfriend were arrested at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport over the weekend after 100 kilos of cocaine were found in their suitcases. According to the Daily Star, Lamentin First in the Caribbean country has been taken into custody.
French newspaper Le Parisien reported that Nidra, 29, appeared before the investigating judge with his girlfriend.
Njedra made his debut for Martinique in 2012 after playing for American club Marinois.
The midfielder also participated in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where he started against Panama and won against Nicaragua, and also played a match against the US team.
After that, the Nidra club released a statement about the incident, promising to work to protect young people from the risks involved.
His club said in a statement: “We learned, without knowing the extent of his involvement, that one of our players was arrested in Paris on drug trafficking charges.”
