The National Academy for Cybersecurity enables over 2,600 beneficiaries in the first half of 2023
The National Academy for Cybersecurity disclosed that it has enabled 2,660 beneficiaries during the first half of 2023 in the various initiatives and training programs it provides under the “Cyberc” program for the development of the cyber security industry. This program is a major possibility to achieve the objectives of the national cyber security strategy, as part of its efforts to build and develop national specialized capacities in the sector, raise the level of cyber readiness of national authorities and contribute to the creation of a secure and trusted Saudi cyberspace that enables growth and prosperity.
The “Cyber Pro” program trains 883 beneficiaries for government agencies
The Academy trained 883 beneficiaries representing more than 150 government agencies in the fifth edition of the program for training and qualification of public employees in the field of cyber security, “Cyber Pro”. This program aims to develop the skills of specialists in the field of cyber security and related fields. The training is provided in 6 tracks: governance, risk management and compliance, protection and defense, threat management, vulnerability assessment, cyber incident response, industrial control systems.
The “National Cyber Training Program” empowers more than 1,023 beneficiaries
The number of beneficiaries of the “National Cyber Training Program” aimed at empowerment has reached more than 1,023. These beneficiaries represent various government sectors and have been trained in Saudi cyberspace. The training helps them become familiar with the latest methods used in cyber attacks and provides strategies to deal with them through computer exercises that simulate realistic scenarios.
Leadership skills development for cybersecurity officials
In the first half of 2023, the Academy helped develop the leadership skills of 160 cybersecurity officials as part of the “Cybersecurity Leaders” program. This program targets leaders working in cybersecurity positions in national agencies. It includes the delivery of more than 140 hours of training focused on leadership skills and cybersecurity risk management. Additionally, it conducts more than 10 practical exercises and 3 career counseling sessions with industry experts, as well as a specialized workshop on augmented reality in collaboration with prestigious universities.
Training programs for honorable judges and prosecutors
The Academy’s programs in the first half of the current calendar year aimed to train more than 300 distinguished judges and prosecutors. The “Capacity Building for Honorable Judges in the Field of Cyber Security” and the “Capacity Building for Honorable Prosecutors in the Field of Cyber Security” programs enhance the skills and capabilities in the field of cyber security for judges and members of the Prosecutor’s Office. These programs support their judicial work related to the sector and highlight the needs and priorities of investigative and judicial authorities in the areas of cyber security and fundamentals of cyber security.
Empowering teachers with cyber security skills
The Academy trained 294 beneficiaries under the Cyber Security Teacher Training Program. This program is initiated by the National Cyber Security Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The aim of this program is to equip teachers and teachers with cyber security skills and develop field knowledge among various segments of society. The program also enables them to meet the requirements for obtaining international professional certificates in the field of cyber security. This initiative aims to bring the knowledge of cybersecurity to broader segments of society.
Comprehensive programs for national cyber security
The programs of the National Cyber Security Academy reflect the nature of the comprehensiveness and diversity of subjects that characterize it to cover all areas related to cyber security. These programs aim to reach all targeted national segments and industries. The Academy serves as a center for the construction and qualification of national specialized cadres in the field of cyber security. It aims to narrow the gap between supply and demand at the level of human cadres specialized in cyber security and help strengthen the cyber security of the Kingdom. The Academy targets national agency employees and recent graduate students of Saudi universities and colleges in cyber security and related fields.
