His Highness expressed his gratitude to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, for his report on the “Safeguards Agreement concluded under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons with Iran”, and stressed the importance of keeping the Agency’s Member States informed of developments. relating to Iran’s violations of the Safeguards Agreement, especially in light of the continued lack of transparency on the Iranian side. With regard to the agency’s demand about four years ago to substantiate the existence of multiple human uranium particles, as well as Iran’s explanations that are technically not credible.
His Highness referred to the decision taken at last June’s meeting that Iran should cooperate fully with the agency and expedite its requests, adding that despite giving Iran many opportunities, the last of which was in March last year to clarify and resolve the above issues, but Iran continues its misleading policy as it has transported nuclear material to other sites unknown to the Agency, in addition to its attempts to evade the amended paragraph (3.1) of the Subsidiary Provisions. is attached to the safeguards agreement concluded with him, which testifies to the frivolity of his cooperation with the Agency.
His Highness welcomed the resolution adopted by the Council, which expresses the deep concern of Member States over the lack of transparency and lack of cooperation of the Iranian side with the Agency to resolve outstanding issues and requires immediate cooperation, and also emphasizes the importance of intensifying the efforts of Council Member States to protect the non-proliferation regime especially in the light of the Agency’s statement. He expressed the impact on his ability to confirm the extent of the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program and called on Iran to cooperate fully with the Agency to clarify and resolve outstanding safeguards issues without delay. He also expressed the Kingdom’s support for all of the Agency’s efforts to maintain a safeguards system to limit nuclear proliferation.
