The Saudi Arabian Cycling Federation has announced the date of the first edition of the Women’s Cycling League and the competition schedule, which is in line with the schedule set by the Federation under the Women’s Sports Support Program.
The Women’s League starts on October 14 next year and will include 7 races, the Kingdom Champions (Individual) Time Trial and the Kingdom Champions (Individual), where the total distance of the races will be 625 km. in 7 different regions of the Kingdom.
For her part, Princess Mashael bint Faisal, head of the Women’s Committee of the Saudi Arabian Cycling Federation, said the announcement was an important moment in the development of women’s cycling, noting that launching the first official league in the Kingdom was one of the most important goals of the Women’s Committee.
She confirmed that the technical committee had finalized all rules and regulations related to the schedule, emphasizing the commitment of the committees to implement and comply with them due to the importance of this version for the Saudi Arabian bike path. She thanked the Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal for his unrestricted support. She also thanked Saudi Cycling Federation President Abdullah Al Watlan for his efforts and follow-up.
Notably, Al Ettifak Club is the first club in the Kingdom to launch cycling for women, followed by Al Raed Club, Riyadh Club and Al Khalij Club. Life in support of women in various sectors to achieve goals Kingdom Vision 2030.
