Today, the Council of the European Union has given the green light to extend for another year the Union’s regulations on the digital certificate (Covid 19) for restaurants against the emerging corona virus (Covid 19) due to the ongoing pandemic.
The Council, representing the 27 member states of the Union, said in a statement that the European Union adopted the current rules on June 14, 2021, and they entered into force at the beginning of July 2021, and now their work will be extended. until June 30, 2023.
The statement states that the certificates have played an important role in facilitating the movement of people within the Union countries during the pandemic.
He explained that the extension will link travelers from and outside the European Union to the system, allowing them to continue using digital certificates (Covid 19) for travel within Member States where these certificates are required.
He indicated that the ruling could also be lifted soon if the health situation allows.
