EU to fund arms supply to Ukraine and ban pro-Kremlin media new punishments on Belarus, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday that “for the first ever, the European Union will fund purchase and delivery of weapons and more equipment in a country under attack.”
Von der Leyen added that “we close down EU airspace for Russians. We propose a ban on all Russian-owned, Russian-registered or Russian-controlled aircraft. These planes will not be more be able to land inprise off or fly over the territory of the EU.
She says also the EU will ban “the Kremlin media machine. The state corporations Russia Today and Sputnik, as well as their subsidiaries, will no longer be able to spread their lies to justify Putin’s war and sow division in our union.”
Von der Leyen added that the EU will also target Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko for supporting Russia is widespread military campaign in Ukraine.
“We will do it hit Lukashenko’s regime with a new package of sanctions,” she said.
