HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Medina Region and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the District Centers Association, visited the Al Qaswa Stadium, one of the multifunctional urban playgrounds controlled by the District Centers Association in Medina. in the presence of His Excellency the mayor of the region, engineer Fahd Al Boleisha.
During the visit, the General Secretary of the Association of District Centers, Dr. Samir Magamsi, presented an overview of the association’s services and playground system for 64 districts in the first phase, distributed across 23 residential neighborhoods and supervised by 18 specialized sports academies and served more than 38,000 beneficiaries during the past year.
His Highness the Emir of the Al-Madina Al-Munawara region also opened the electronic application of the “My Community” platform, developed by the Association of District Centers. Districts, technical support services and other integrated platform services.
Prince Faisal bin Salman praised the playgrounds in the neighborhood and their effective contribution to improving the health and sports awareness of the population by creating and providing a safe sports environment for young men and women, as well as establishing sustainable operational programs that support the achievement of goals. quality of life and public health improvement programs for individuals and families.
His Highness stressed that neighborhood playgrounds are the first nucleus for identifying talent and building Saudi sports stars, pointing out the vital role these stadiums play in attracting young people, investing their energy, evaluating their behavior and enabling them to play interactive sports. activities in an appropriate environment that helps them develop communication skills, exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration between them, and the role these facilities play in supporting sports academies that attract talented people and spread sports culture among the younger generation.
It should be noted that the Medina District Playgrounds are one of the results of the collaboration between the Municipality of the Medina Region and the Association of District Centers through the strengthening of partnership and integration between the public sector and the third sector, which led to the establishment and provision of 64 multifunctional sports grounds in the first phase, in which Over the past 2021, there have been nearly 20 community sports championships and more than 132 weekly training programs for all age groups led by a team of professional coaches at stadiums. .
The operation and management of community playgrounds is one of the activities of the Association of Community Centers (“My Community”), while the Association is currently working on the establishment of a number of community councils and centers in addition to expanding the management and operation of playgrounds to create a healthy and a healthy environment that contributes to the quality of life in the Medina.
