The Cooperation Council demands that Netflix remove content that violates copyright.

The Committee of Electronic Media Officials in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries called on the Netflix platform to remove infringing content; This is due to the fact that in the last broadcast period of the platform some visual materials and content that violate the control of media content in the countries of the Cooperation Council, which is contrary to Islamic and social values ​​and principles, and, accordingly, contact was made with the “Netflix” platform to remove this content, including those intended for children. The Committee confirmed that the relevant authorities will monitor the implementation of Netflix’s obligations regarding the directives, and in the event that content that violates the rules continues to be broadcast, the necessary legal measures will be taken.
