The Boys Season 4: Release Date, Cast, and Plot
The season finale of the popular Amazon Prime series “The Boys” answered many fan questions, shedding light on Soldier Boy’s questionable past and revealing the powers possessed by Homelander’s son, Ryan Butcher. The show is a clever satire of the superhero culture and its ties to the American military-industrial complex. Season 3 continued with the same shock factor as previous seasons, with the first episode referencing the popular NSFW Ant-Man and Thanos meme before the release of “Avengers: Endgame.” Although the show deviates from the source material, it remains current with its commentary, making it easier to rely on the comics for answers. Fans eagerly anticipate what’s to come in the next season.

What is the Release Date of The Boys Season 4?
Before The Boys Season 4 comes to pass, the world of Vought superheroes will next be explored in Gen V. The spin-off has already dropped posters and a teaser trailer, with the premiere set for 2023, likely towards the end of the year. As Amazon will already return to the world of The Boys later this year, Season 4 almost certainly won’t debut until 2024, especially since filming for the next batch of outrageous episodes only wrapped up in April. Looking at the past three seasons, The Boys debuted its new seasons around 10 to 11 months after the end of filming. Season 4 will likely debut on Amazon in early 2024, around February or March. However, Amazon may push the return of Butcher and the Gang back a few months to allow for a longer break between the Gen V Season 1 finale and The Boys Season 4 premiere. Based on the past three seasons, fans shouldn’t expect to be able to binge The Boys Season 4 in one go, as new episodes will likely drop every week.
What Is The Boys Season 4 Plot?
Eric Kripke, the showrunner, has confirmed that Season 4 will focus on the conflict between Butcher and Homelander regarding Ryan. In the previous season, Ryan was last seen with his unstable super father. Homelander, in a chilling moment in the finale, seemed to understand that he could get away with anything in front of the public. This raises the question of how far he will go to protect his son in the upcoming season and how unpredictable he may become. Meanwhile, in terms of Butcher, the leader of the Boys, just found out he is dying due to his overuse of Temp V with just over a year to live. But as he opted not to tell anyone of his diagnosis, that secret will likely unravel across Season 4. Another major plot point for Season 4 comes with the rise of congresswoman Victoria Neuman – a supe with the power to kill anybody instantly. With Neuman on the path to the White House and the Vice Presidency, she will undoubtedly threaten Vought and the Boys alike. It has been announced that The Boys Season 4 will feature two fresh superheroes, namely Sister Sage and Firecracker, in addition to introducing a new Black Noir character. These superhumans could potentially join the Seven, as the group was left with only Homelander, A-Train, and the Deep following Season 3. It’s not clear if any of Season 4’s events will be affected by the planned Gen V spin-off. The Gen V spin-off will follow a new group of young superheroes at Vought’s Godolkin University School of Crimefighting in an X-Men-inspired series with all of The Boys’ zaniness.
Will The Boys Season 4 Be the Last?
The Boys Season 4 will come out not long after the brand-new college spin-off Gen V. This shows that Amazon wants to keep building on this world and not end it any time soon. Showrunner Eric Kripke has already pretty much announced on Twitter that The Boys will be back for Season 5 by saying that the Season 4 finale is “not the series finale” and promising that “there will be more.” Although Amazon has not officially announced the renewal of The Boys for Season 5, creator Eric Kripke’s continued involvement and the show’s popularity among fans make it highly likely that Season 4 will not be the final season.
