Team Al Hilal Taekwondo captured the Kingdom’s first class Olympic Weight title with points (276) and gold from Riyad Hamdi and Sami Al Khaybari at the tournament ending yesterday at King Fahd Sports City in Taif.
The youth team finished second with (257) points and Hisham bin Dohi and Ali Al Mabrouk won gold while the branch finished third with (83) points and Esperance was fourth with (82) points and the player” Al-Hilala” Riyad Hamdi won the tournament’s best player award.
At the junior level, with (313) players representing (43) clubs, the Al Hilal team finished first in the Kingdom Junior Qualifying Championship with (318) points and golds from Nawaf Hussein and Muhammad Al Yamani. the branch finished third with (217) points and a gold by Mashari Ba Masud, while the Falcons team finished fourth for the first time in their history with (213) points and a gold by Asil Asiri.
At the closing ceremony, the champions were crowned by the director of the branch of the Ministry of Sports in Taif province, Abdullah Muhammad Al-Zaidi, and a member of the board of directors of the Saudi Taekwondo Federation, Muhammad Noah Qadi. The Saudi Arabian Taekwondo Federation held a seminar for taekwondo coaches and administrators with (54) participants and the participation of international taekwondo judges Ghazi Al-Ghanim on “Al-Karuki Law” and Mujash Alawi on “Al-Bumsi Law” and was supervised by the head of the technical committee Federation of Games Tamer Al-Saran and Head of the Referee Committee Fayez Al-Saluli.
