A 24-year-old Syrian man suffering from mental illness stabbed his 57-year-old father to death on Saturday evening Sunday in Metz, eastern France, according to identical sources.
“A young man killed his father with a white weapon,” the county governor told AFP, referring to a “family tragedy.”
For his part, the prosecutor in charge of the investigation explained that “there was a stabbing in Metz last night”, adding that “the investigation is ongoing”.
Police sources indicated that the man “killed his father with a knife” before his “brothers could control him”.
The five brothers of the perpetrator were treated by firefighters for their injuries, and the perpetrator, suffering from schizophrenia, was taken into police custody.
