After the meeting in Cairo, the Foreign Ministers of the League of Arab States adopted Resolution No. 8914, in which they announced the resumption of the participation of Syrian delegations in meetings of the Council of the League and all its subordinate bodies from today. On the memorandum of the Permanent Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt No. 1335 dated May 3, 2023,

Based on the concern of the Member States for the security and stability of the Syrian Arab Republic, its Arabism, sovereignty, territorial integrity and territorial integrity, contribute to finding a way out of the Syrian crisis that will alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Syrian people, realize their legitimate aspirations to move into the future and put an end to the protracted the crisis that the country is experiencing and external interference in its affairs, as well as to deal with its accumulated and growing consequences of terrorism, displacement, asylum, and others,
And on the basis of the decisions of the Council of the League of Arab States regarding the development of the situation in Syria, the latest of which is Resolution No. 8863 of March 8, 2023 of the regular session (159) of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level,
Recalling the efforts made by the Arab countries, in particular the efforts made at the summit<Воссоединение>> in Algeria,
Expressing its full solidarity with the Syrian people regarding the challenges they face that affect their security and stability and the serious violations to which they are subjected and which threaten their existence, the lives of innocent citizens, and the unity and integrity of the Syrian lands,
Welcoming the efforts to create the right conditions to move towards a comprehensive political settlement in Syria, and the desire to intensify the leading role of the Arab States in efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis in order to address all its humanitarian, security and political implications, creating the necessary mechanisms for this roles,
In the light of the speeches of the heads of delegations,
Decide:
Reaffirming the commitment to maintaining the sovereignty, territorial integrity, stability and territorial integrity of Syria on the basis of the Charter of the League of Arab States and its principles, and emphasizing the importance of continuing and intensifying Arab efforts to help Syria out of the crisis, based on the desire to end the long suffering of the brotherly Syrian people in recent years and in accordance with the common Arab interests and brotherly relations that unite all Arab peoples, including the Syrian people, and its historical contribution to Arab civilization and culture.
Welcoming the statements made by the Arab States at the Jeddah meeting on Syria on April 14, 2023 and the Amman meeting on Syria on May 1, 2023, as well as the desire to take the leading role of the Arabs in efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis, affecting all humanitarian issues, the security and political implications of the crisis for Syria and its people. And addressing the consequences of this crisis for neighboring countries, the region and the world, especially the burden of asylum, the danger of terrorism and the danger of drug smuggling, and welcoming the readiness of the Syrian Arab Republic to cooperate with the Arab countries to implement the results of the relevant Arab statements, as well as the need to fulfill the commitments and consensus reached at the meeting in Amman, as well as the adoption of the necessary mechanisms for the activation of the Arab role.
Emphasizing the need to take practical and effective measures to gradually resolve the crisis in accordance with the principle of phased approach and in accordance with Security Council Resolution No. 2254, starting with further steps to allow the delivery of humanitarian assistance to all those in need in Syria, including in accordance with the mechanisms resolutions of the Security Council.
– Formation of a Ministerial Liaison Committee consisting of “Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt and the Secretary General” to oversee the implementation of the Amman Declaration and continue direct dialogue with the Syrian government to achieve a comprehensive solution to the Syrian crisis that eliminates all its consequences , in accordance with a phased methodology and in a manner consistent with Security Council Resolution No. 2254, the committee submits periodic reports to the Council of the University at the ministerial level.
To resume the participation of delegations of the government of the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the Council of the League of Arab States and all its subsidiaries and departments from May 7, 2023.
Request the Secretary General to follow up on the implementation of what is indicated in this decision and keep the Council informed of developments.
