Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called Ukraine part of the ancient “Hungarian land” and called for peace.
“Hungarians also live in Ukraine, and part of this country is Hungarian land, which now belongs to Ukraine,” Orban told Kossuth radio.
He added: “(Hungarians who are citizens of Ukraine) also die in the war, and we Hungarians have at least a double motive – to achieve peace.”
In the same interview, Orban said that no one will emerge victorious from the conflict in Ukraine, urging that there is no possibility of defeating a nuclear power.
