The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, reaffirmed his commitment to completing the transitional phase towards the democratic transition phase, highlighting the support of the Sudanese government and the Sovereignty Council for the efforts of the tripartite mechanism to advance the process of dialogue between the Sudanese parties; Achieve national reconciliation and resolve the current political crisis.
During his meeting today, the President of the Council briefed the tripartite mechanism of the United Nations, the African Union and IGAD, in the presence of Sudanese Foreign Minister-appointed Ali Al-Sadiq, of the arrangements for launching a direct dialogue the day after tomorrow, Wednesday.
For his part, the Sudanese Foreign Minister said in a press statement: The Mechanism welcomed the decision to lift the state of emergency and release the detainees, noting that the Tripartite Mechanism had provided the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council with clarifications on the conduct of the consultation during the last period and ongoing steps since the announcement of the commencement of dialogue Immediately after tomorrow, on Wednesday, between the Sudanese parties.
