Muhammad al-Faki Suleiman, a prominent leader of the Force for Freedom and Change in Sudan, confirmed the announcement of constitutional measures and a civilian prime minister within two weeks.
He said in an interview with the Sudan Tribune; The revolutionary forces will announce within two weeks the new constitutional provisions and a civilian prime minister, noting that the prime minister will be given broad powers to form his government without any imposition on him, provided that the matter is decided in consultation with ” revolutionary forces.
Al-Faqi explained that the Liberty and Change forces, peace signatory armed movements, resistance committees and other civil organizations are involved in this appointment, and that they are now considering several candidates to select one of them as prime minister.
Al-Faki indicated that the prime minister would be responsible to the transitional parliament for the work of the executive body, hoping to abolish the Sovereignty Council in a new constitutional declaration, the draft of which Freedom and Change intends to submit to the revolutionary forces for consultation on it.
The head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan, announced that political and revolutionary forces would be allowed to form a government of powers through dialogue, and also decided not to participate in ongoing negotiations with the military establishment.
