His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports, President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, will lead the Kingdom’s delegation to the Executive Office meeting and the General Assembly of the Council, which will be held in Cambodia from tomorrow and will last two days.
The Saudi delegation to the meetings includes His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Member of the Executive Office and Chairman of the Education Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia. in the presence of NEOM CEO, engineer Nazmi Al-Nasr, as part of the Trogina 2029 bid group, which is nominated to host the Asian Winter Games.
During the course of the assembly, the Saudi Arabian delegation will review the file on hosting Trogina in Neom for the 2029 Asian Winter Games in preparation for a vote on hosting the assembly on Tuesday, which the Kingdom proposed to hold in early August, as Trogina is a global mountain tourism destination in NEOM – if it will win hosting – as the first city to host a winter event in Western Asia after China, Japan, South Korea and Kazakhstan.
The meeting will also review Riyadh’s preparations for the 7th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2025 and the Asian Games (Riyadh 2034).
The General Assembly will discuss the financial and administrative report of the Olympic Council of Asia, as well as the latest developments in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, in connection with the Asian Masters 2023 tournament.
