Today, the Somali army announced that 200 al-Shabaab fighters were killed in a one-day battle in the Jabu district of the central Hiran region.
Military officials said the militants planned to cut off the main road in the area.
And state media, citing sources in the security forces, said the fight took place after information was received about the existence of a plan to strike allied bases in the area.
It is worth noting that in some regions in the center and south of the country there are fierce battles between militants of the Al-Shabaab terrorist movement and government forces allied to clan militias.
