Forget Aurora and Maleficent and say hello to Thalia and Velma in the horrifying adaptation of Sleeping Beauty! The film Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre will follow the story of a young princess devastated after the mysterious death of her father.
Forbidden Love and Dark Ambitions
Living with Prince Edison, whom she loves, Thalia cannot marry him due to her loss of status after her father’s death. Meanwhile, Queen Velma seizes this opportunity to take over the kingdom and rule it alone, using her dark powers to cast Thalia into an eternal sleep.
A Gory Awakening
However, Thalia awakens one day and develops a desire to kill everyone, leading to a series of violent twists and bloody deaths.
A Director’s Vision
The director, Louisa Warren, is no stranger to transforming children’s stories into horror films, having created several feature films about the Tooth Fairy. In an interview, Warren promises to turn everything upside down in the horror genre and create the most uncomfortable, horrific experience to date with this project.
Talented Actors Join the Cast
Lora Hristova has been tapped to play the main role of Thalia in Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre. Hristova has previously appeared in a few short films, including Red Admiral, which was released back in 2023.
A Release Date and More to Come
Production on Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre is set to begin in August, with ITN Studios planning a year-end release. Fans of horror movies will no doubt be eagerly awaiting this horrifying new take on a classic tale.
