Six people have been arrested in connection with the theft of 3 million euros from the home of former Brazil striker Ronaldo, sources close to the investigation told AFP on Thursday.
Sources told AFP, without giving any details, that two people were arrested in the port of Dénia in eastern Spain and four others were detained in the southern city of Malaga.
Italian international Marco Verratti, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, was staying at Ronaldo’s house in Ibiza, but he was gone when thieves stole jewelry and money on Monday.
According to Spanish press reports, four of the six detainees, in addition to a Spaniard and a Romanian, have Albanian citizenship and are part of an organized gang specializing in robberies.
And press reports claim that the Spanish police have returned most of the stolen goods, valued at three million euros.
