Senegal’s Edouard Mendy to sign with Al Ahly club
Senegal international Edouard Mendy is set to sign a contract with the Al Ahly club, marking the club’s first global agreement with players this summer. Mendy is scheduled to arrive in Jeddah tomorrow, Monday, to undergo a medical examination before officially signing the contract.
Medical examination completed in London
Mendy began a medical examination in London after all the procedures for his transfer to Al Ahli were completed. Al Ahly officials had previously received approval from English club Chelsea for the deal.
Contract with Chelsea
Mendy’s contract with Chelsea expires in the summer of 2025, which means Al Ahly had to get Chelsea’s approval to complete the deal. Mendy participated in 10 matches of the last season of the English Premier League with Chelsea, succeeded in 14 saves, and went clean sheet in one match.
Hakim Ziyech’s move to Al Nasr
Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech is also expected to move from Chelsea to Al Nasr this week. The two clubs have agreed on all the details of the deal, and the player will have to undergo a medical examination.
Al-Hilal’s recent acquisition
It should be noted that Al-Hilal announced the recent inclusion of Portuguese Ruben Neves from Chelsea as one of the most important deals of the current summer Mercato.
