Ahmed Abul Gheith, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, reaffirmed the importance of reaching a final settlement of the Palestinian question and the Arab-Israeli conflict, which would lead to the end of the occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders on June 4, 1967. with its capital in East Jerusalem.
In today’s meeting with Canadian Secretary of State for Parliamentary Affairs Robert Oliphant, who is currently visiting Cairo, Abul Ghaith emphasized the need for the Canadian side to move positively towards this goal and not be content with a stated position in support of a two-state solution.
The Arab League said in a statement that the meeting considered all developments in the regional and international arenas, especially the development of the Palestinian cause, the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam case, bilateral relations between the League and Canada, as well as ways to improve them in various fields, as well as the development of the crisis in Ukraine and its implications for global food security.
