Wearing bulletproof vests and helmets, a team of doctors in the Donetsk Republic performs an operation to extract the detonator of a mine stuck in the leg of a wounded man.
Andrey Korolkov, head of the Department of General Emergency Surgery at the First St. Petersburg State Medical University, who is now working in Donbass, said that the wounded man had an explosion, and the unexploded detonator remained in his right leg.
Korolkov added that the operation was successful for both the patient and the surgeon, explaining that if the mine’s fuse had exploded, it would have torn off the doctors’ arms and wounded leg.
