The head of the Saudi Football Association, Yasser Al-Mishal, reassured Saudi fans after a serious injury received by the captain of the national team, Salman Al-Faraj, during a friendly match with Iceland.
Al-Mishal said Al-Faraj’s injury was minor and would not hinder him in his next match.
The head of the Saudi Federation added that the medical staff will conduct additional tests to ensure the safety of the player.
Saudi Arabia captain Salman Al-Faraj was seriously injured during Al-Akhdar’s match against Iceland, which is currently taking place as part of the team’s preparation for the World Cup.
Due to the excessive rudeness of one of the Icelandic players, Al-Faraj suffered a severe shoulder injury which forced him to leave and was replaced by Ayman Yahya.
