Yesterday, Monday, the Saudi Football Association announced its intention to run for hosting the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup.
FA President Yasser Al-Mishal confirmed that the announcement of his intention to run for the 2026 AFC Asian Cup is due to the generous and unlimited support of the wise leadership, as well as the great interest of His Highness Minister of Sports, President of the Olympic and Paralympic Committee of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al -Faisal, who leads the Federation, is always fighting to host major regional and continental sporting events.
Al-Mishal added that the desire to host the tournament comes from the premise of achieving new leaps in women’s football in the Kingdom, which has witnessed its launch in recent months despite its recent era.
The President of the Saudi Federation indicated that the ambitious plan that has been implemented for women’s football in the Kingdom is not only aimed at spreading the game or decent representation in tournaments, but also at presenting a special version of women’s football to the Saudi Federation.
Al-Mishal concluded his speech with the Federation of Saudi Arabia starting the formation of a specialized committee to work on the hosting file and represent it worthily for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve the desired goal.
