A state of panic has gripped Liverpool fans after two of their stars, Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Dutchman Virgil van Dijk, were injured in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
Salah was eliminated from the first half of the match that took place on Saturday and was then followed by defensive captain Van Dijk in two disturbing scenes two weeks before the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
But website Anfield Watch, which specializes in the Reds, confirmed that Liverpool were confident that both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk would avoid serious injury when they came out on Saturday.
Salah was discharged due to adductor muscle pain, while Van Dijk was discharged due to “discomfort” in his knee.
According to the site, none of the players were sent for examination on Sunday, which means Liverpool are optimistic about their condition.
A medical examination will only be carried out if Salah or van Dijk’s pain persists.
The site indicated it was unlikely the two players’ injury problems would continue, but they could face Southampton in the English Premier League on Tuesday night.
Liverpool will face their rivals Real Madrid in 13 days at Stade Saint-Denis in Paris.
