Today, on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the supply of Russian grain to the countries of the Middle East was not interrupted, despite Western sanctions.
Director of the Department for the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Kinshak, according to the Russia Today TV channel, indicated that recently there has been a trend towards a steady increase in the volume of deliveries to the Middle East, noting that due to restrictions imposed by Western countries, it was necessary to modify export mechanisms , some of them are still being reconfigured.
Kinchak added that US and European sanctions, which provide for the separation of Russian banks from the Swift system, the suspension of money transfers in dollars and euros, and the prohibition of Western ships from entering Russian ports; This prevented the arrival of the local merchant fleet in European countries, which contributed to the complexity of logistics and the rise in the cost of freight.
He stressed that his country was working on developing alternative transport and logistics plans and agreeing on new channels and forms of financial settlement using other currencies, including the ruble.
