The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today, Wednesday, that it has begun to evacuate its staff from all the headquarters of its diplomatic missions in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously said that the Russian leadership has decided to evacuate the staff of the diplomatic mission in Ukraine in order to protect the lives of the people and ensure their safety.
In a statement yesterday Tuesday, he confirmed that the evacuations will take place as soon as possible, noting that this decision was taken due to objective threats to the life and safety of embassy employees.
“Since 2014, the Russian Embassy in Kiev and our country’s consulate generals in Odessa, Lviv and Kharkov have been attacked repeatedly. There have been regular provocations against the Russian Scientific and Cultural Center in Kiev … the property of the center was damaged,” the ministry said.
Explaining that Russian diplomats received threats of physical violence and their cars were set on fire, the Minister noted that contrary to the Vienna Conventions on diplomatic and consular relations, the Kiev authorities did not take any measures to prevent this. .
